Alberta Playwriting Competition
Natalie has won 2019 Grand Prize of the Alberta Playwriting Competition with her play “Boom Baby!”
The Grand Prize recipient receives a $5000.00 cash prize. The Novitiate Prize winner receives ongoing development and workshopping of their play and will be featured at Script Salon in February of 2020.

The Alberta Playwriting Competition is presented by APN in association with Theatre Alberta.
The jury for the 2019 edition of the Annual Alberta Playwriting Competition read 43 submissions and selected the following plays to the 2019 Shortlist.

There were many more plays that were recognized from the submissions and the three-person jury commented on the incredibly rich pool of talented voices creating theatre in this province.
Theatre BC Playwriting Competition
Congratulations to the winners of this year’s annual Theatre BC Playwriting Competition:
Full Length Play: “Boom Baby” by Natalie Meisner
One-Act Play: “Castle on the Farm” by Alaina Baskerville-Bridges
Special Merit: “Where The Wind Carries Us” by Andrew Lee
Finalists and runners-up included “Trudeaumania” by Daniel McLeod, and “The Wrong Bashir”by Zahida Rahumtulla.
Theatre BC will feature the One-Act Play winner, “Castle on the Farm” by Alaina Baskerville-Bridges in our New Play Workshop at Mainstage this summer in Port Alberni. Workshop instructor Kathryn Shaw will take participants through the script, with a focus on acting and directing.
